It is with great pleasure that we welcome both Simon Thomas and David Verryt to the Reliance Partners’ Network. Simon and David have recently brought together their respective insurance broking businesses to partner with us in the Success PMA in Western Australia.
Simon has been in the insurance industry for over 20-years and has worked in a multitude of areas including life, underwriting and broking. Focussing predominantly in the SME market, Simon has built a solid portfolio of loyal clients since establishing his own brokerage back in the early nineties. Simon joins the ever growing number of keen cyclists that are scattered throughout our Partner Network. He is heavily involved in riding for charity, in particular ‘Tour de Cure’, which raises funds to support research into curing cancer. Simon is super fit, and it is nothing for him to hop on the bike and ride from Adelaide to Canberra; or from Brisbane to Sydney in support of this very worthwhile cause.
David has been in the industry since 1965, commencing in the UK with CIS. He later moved on to the Royal, after which he commenced his career in broking where he held senior positions at Allied Minet/ Stenhouse and Aon. David purchased his own book in 2005 and has built upon it extensively since. David is not a cyclist, but instead is a keen tennis and golf player. While this sounds like a good work/ life balance, think about this! For the last 5 years David has essentially run his business ‘poolside’ from his resort style home in Bali. A quick commute back to WA on a regular basis keeps his major clients happy, while he makes himself constantly available by phone to the balance of his clients (yes, while sitting around the pool). The regular visits back to Australia also serve as buying trips for David to supplement his extensive art collection. We are very proud to have secured a partnership with these two very well respected West Australian brokers.
